Our Principal
Mary Bartsch - Principal
Mrs. Bartsch grew up in Pennsylvania and lived with her family in Delaware for the past 22 years before relocating with her husband, Chris, to Boulder. Her two sons are attending the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Bartsch received her Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from West Chester University. She also has two Masters Degrees from Wilmington University; the first in Elementary Administration and a second in Applied Technology. Mrs. Bartsch taught 2 year olds and summer camps for 3-6 year olds for New Castle County. Having attended Catholic School herself, it was only natural she work for the Diocese of Delaware, where she taught students from the age of two all the way up to 8th graders in subjects as varied as science, spelling, vocabulary, and religion.
As co-chair of the Middle States Committee and Strategic Planning Committee, Mrs. Bartsch has served on several Middle States Teams evaluating schools for reaccreditation. She also served as a member of the Dioceses Science Curriculum Committee. Tutoring and mentoring middle and high school students gave her extra joy. A former student nominated Mrs. Bartsch as a Disney Creative Teacher. Mrs. Bartsch served as a First Lego League Coach (FLL) and took her Robotics Team, The BatMOEbiles, to the 2009 FLL US Open Championship.
Mrs. Bartsch feels very blessed to be here in Boulder at Sacred Heart of Jesus School. She is enjoying the mountain views, and hiking and walking around the Twin Lakes with her dogs.
Our theme this year is “You can Make a Difference”. Daily Prayer and Make a Difference thought/challenges encourage our students to emulate Jesus in school and to the world. At the core of Sacred Heart’s existence is the sense of family and Christian Spirit that sets it apart by pride, honor and enthusiasm. As you come to know us, it will be easy to understand the strong support for our community, the presence of multi-generation families who call Sacred Heart home and the numerous alumni that support us.
