Our Music Teacher
Linda Chambers-Music
Mrs. Chambers grew up in Charleston, WV. Her father was a “lay” minister for the Gospel Tabernacle Association. Her most meaningful memory: playing the piano for church services and singing with her two sisters in church. She went to public school, then continued on to Marshall University where she received a BA degree in Music Education and an MA degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. She married Jack, her college sweetheart, in 1973. They had their first child, Jack III, in 1978. They moved to Colorado in 1984 where their second child, Paul, was born.
Mrs. Chambers started teaching in 1973 for Wayne County Schools in WV as a third grade teacher. She moved to Pike County, Ohio and on to Marion, Ohio teaching Special Education. Upon her families move to Colorado, she began teaching for BVSD as an itinerant music teacher. She taught for 26 years and retired May 2010 from the public school system.
Mrs. Chambers enjoys riding her bike, running with her running group, playing piano for two church services every Sunday morning, being a part of a Praise Band, playing bass in a Bluegrass band, gardening, and the company of her family.
Mrs. Chambers feels blessed to have the opportunity to teach in a faith based school. She looks forward to the enjoyment of Christ’s words “let the children come unto me” with their love for life and the word of God.
