Passport to Math
The sixth grade math program includes a review of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers. The students are introduced to factorization, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals, the concept of percent and the conversion to decimal and fractions, geometry, graphs, and the introduction to basic algebra.

Math 7 is designed to emphasize the mastery of fractions, decimals, ratios and percents with special attention given to problem solving and estimation. Measurement, using metric and English units and conversions; geometry including perimeter, area, and volume. Statistics are introduced in this class.

Pre-Algebra
6th, 7th, and 8th Grades: |
TEXT: Passport to Algebra & Geometry, McDougal Littell, 2002 edition
The pre-algebra course is comprised of units emphasizing the mastery of fractions, decimals, ratios, percents, and measurement; and the introduction of geometry, number theory, variables, equations including solving and graphing, and statistics. Applications, consumer math, problem solving, and estimation are emphasized in each unit. Placement is determined by teacher recommendation.

Algebra I
7th and 8th Grades: |

Algebra I, a year-long course, is equivalent to high school Algebra I. It is offered to 7th and 8th grade students who have excelled in Pre-Algebra. Placement is determined by teacher recommendation.

Geometry
8th Grade: |
TEXT: Geometry, McDougal & Littell 2002 edition
Geometry, equivalent to high school geometry is offered only to 8th grade students who have successfully completed Algebra I. Placement is determined by teacher recommendation.
