Write Source, Grade 6.
The text strives to help students achieve the goals of refining, writing, speaking, listening skills, and grammar. This book will be supplemented with the Write Source 2000 a guide to writing, thinking, and learning.
Writing skills are emphasized using paragraph writing and the correlation between reading and writing. Basic diagramming of sentences is introduced at the end of the book.

TEXT: Sadlier-Oxford Vocabulary Workshop Level “C”,
William H. Sadlier, Inc.
Write Source, Grade 7.
Grammar:
Students study the parts of speech, complements, phrases,
clauses, and sentence structure, prefixes, suffixes, roots.
Usage:
Students study agreement, verbs, pronouns, modifiers and
common usage problems.
Building effective sentences , constructing strong paragraphs, strengthening word choice(s), improving spelling, all eight parts of speech.
Mechanics:
Capitalization and punctuation, plurals, abbreviations, numbers.
Vocabulary:
Students study words descended from Greek and Latin roots
and are tested on definition, context writing and using diacritical marks correctly,
definitions with synonyms, antonyms, and complete illustrative sentences for every taught word. Also includes vocabulary for comprehension (in the kinds of questions) that appear on such tests as the new SAT and ACT.
Writing:
Students learn to write using the Six (+1) – Trait Analytical
Assessment Model.
Forms of Writing:
Personal essay, expository essay, persuasive essay,
descriptive essay, narrative essay, creative writing, research writing.
