Academic Objectives
We believe in a traditional approach to learning fundamentals based on a challenging and productive learning environment where students are motivated by high expectations.
We believe in a challenging core curriculum along with religious activities, fine arts, physical education, foreign languages and computer technology.
Academic Expectations
As a part of the Archdiocese of Denver, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School follows an established, academically challenging curriculum. All teachers are routinely and thoroughly trained in the curriculum.
- All Sacred Heart of Jesus elementary students are expected to strive to make steady progress toward mastery of the curriculum presented at each grade level. Mastery of the curriculum is a prerequisite for advancing to the next grade level.
- As a prerequisite to participate in a co-curricular activity, including athletics, the following policies are in effect:
Students are expected to be in school on the day of practice or a game in order to participate that day.
- Inappropriate behavior or failing grades may cause the loss of eligibility for a sport.
- Any student who receives one or more F’s on either a mid-term report or report card will be ineligible for all Sacred Heart of Jesus athletics until the following report card or mid-term is issued and passing grades have been achieved.
- The Principal will notify parents and coaches if a student is ineligible because of grades or behaviors.
