Parish Food Pantry Program
The Parish Food Pantry Program is one of the charitable programs
of Sacred Heart of Jesus. The purpose of this
program is to give food assistance to low-income
families. Typically, a food box supplies enough food
for three to four meals. The usual distribution
of food boxes is every two
weeks on a Tuesday, with some additional
food boxes given out on an
emergency basis between the distribution
days. In 2004, more than 2,200
food boxes were distributed to families
ranging in size from one to nine members.
There
are many ways to volunteer for this program: preparing
food boxes, stocking pantry shelves, donating
food, and helping with the distribution — these are just a
few examples. Please call Barbara Cervantes at (303) 444-2527 if you are interested in volunteering or call the parish center, 303-442-6158, ext. 100.
