Scripture Reading discussion led by Deacon Walter Sweeney Wednesday, April 27

Acts15: 1-2, 22-29. The Church continues to spread throughput the known world. Disputes arise and through conversation and dialogue resolutions are found. The Lord’s work continues on. How do we deal with disputes in the Church? Do we hinder the continuing spread of the Gospel by how we handle disagreements?

Psalm 67: We have something wonderful to share with the world—the Lord’s ways, the Lord’s rule, the Lord’s face shining upon us! Praise to Lord of heaven and earth.

Revelation 21:10-14,22-23. The heavenly kingdom. We are not there yet but we have begun to live some of it radiance — the Word of God, the Jesus’ continued actions in the sacraments, the presence of the Holy Spirit -- in the Church. We will be there sooner, perhaps, than we imagine.

Gospel of John 14:23-29. Jesus own description of what our Christian life is to be. At its center is Peace, “my peace I give to you….Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Do you live now in peace and joy? No matter what trial and difficulties you are living through at the moment .

Let’s see where the Lord is trying to take us. See you on Wednesday.
