What is scrip?

Scrip is any gift certificate from a retailer, grocer, or restaurant that is purchased by a nonprofit institution at a discounted rate. The nonprofit then sells the gift certificates at a regular price, as a fundraising activity.

Currently Sacred Heart of Jesus purchases gift certificates from King Soopers and Safeway at a 5% discount. These gift certificates are sold at full price to raise money for Sacred Heart of Jesus School. Rather than paying for groceries with cash or credit card, you just use the gift
cards instead. So far this fundraiser has paid for things such as 8th grade graduation activities and a new freezer in the school cafeteria. Now we are raising funds to purchase a new boiler in the school and additional classroom supplies.

We are looking for volunteers to sell grocery scrip in $25 and $100 denominations after Sunday Masses to provide parishioners with an easy way to support this effort. If anyone is interested, please call Robin at (303) 442-6158, ext. 108.

Grocery scrip (gift cards) from King Soopers and Safeway are available for purchase at the school office from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm on days when school is in session. Scrip may also be purchased at the front desk of the parish center from 9 am to noon and from 1 to 5 pm Monday through Friday. School programming receives 5% of all proceeds!

Liquor Mart gift certificates are also available for purchase at the school office and at the parish center front desk. School programming receives 10% of all proceeds.

Earth Friendly Coffee certificates are available for purchase at the school office and at the parish center front desk. School programming receives 40% of all proceeds! You can purchase coffice with house blend, dark roast or decaf any of which can be whole bean or ground.

New this year is a Starbucks card in $10 and $25 amounts with a 7% return, and they guarantee a 2 week turn around. The Starbucks cards can be purchases at the school office or at the front desk of the parish center.

Another great way to contribute to Sacred Heart of Jesus is through eScrip. The eScrip program is a fundraising program that allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and debit/ATM card purchases to our parish. You register your existing cards and the participating merchants will make contributions to Sacred Heart of Jesus based on your purchases. Find out more about eScrip by checking out these links:
