The SHJ Altar and Rosary Society is an organization for all women and men of the parish. Our main service areas are:
- Providing funeral luncheons (working with our priests and at the request of the family after a church funeral or memorial service for a member of our parish. A&R responds with food dishes for these luncheons in Jubilee Hall);
- Making quilts for the needy
- Supplying cookies for Boulder Manor Nursing Home birthday parties
- Weekly laundering of purificators, towels and altar linens.
We have one business meeting each year to inform members of our plans and financial status and to vote on necessary motions. Our service is totally supported through donations.
The volunteer sign-up forms are located at the church exits, in Jubilee Hall, and at the Parish Center. These forms are necessary for coordination, updating, and knowing that we have your support whether you are an active or inactive member.

The SHJ Quilters have been active for over 30
years. We use donated material, sheets, yarn, thread, and money to make approximately 100 to 150 full
size quilts per year, approximately 200 baby quilts, and 75
to 100 lap robes for people with disabilities.
The group donated quilts to St. Michael’s Mission in
Arizona, St. Bonaventure’s Mission in New Mexico,
and locally Echo House, Safe House, and Fish. Baby
quilts have gone to the mission in Hermasillo, Mexico,
and to Caring Pregnancy Center. Lap
robes were sent to a nursing home at the mission in
Hermasillo. A girls’ orphanage in Monterrey, Mexico,
